Internship at ASML

Across two internship periods—December 2023 to July 2024 and March to August 2025—I worked on a Mendix application intended to replace fragmented, spreadsheet-driven management of outsourced workforce resources.

I started without prior Mendix experience and learned the platform while establishing the initial application structure and relational domain model. The work covered structured imports, validation, searchable resource views, workflows, role-aware behaviour, dashboards, reporting, and technical and functional documentation.

Working with a larger team

During the second period, three more interns joined. As the person with the most context, I helped them get started with the domain model and project conventions, split up features, and coordinated changes that touched the same parts of the application.

Recovering lost work

Several developers initially worked too directly against the main line. A bad integration broke the application and forced us to reconstruct lost changes. I helped pause and recover the work, then moved the team toward branch-based development. We also started writing down what a feature was meant to do before merging it and coordinating changes more carefully.
